"Highly intriguing new fusions from the Notts based Wigflex label, pulling together a symmetric selection of post dubstep riddims and electronica based techno variants from Geiom, Metaphi, Hizatron and Taylor. This is the debut release on the label and also the first entry from the majority of the artists, Geiom excepted. The Nottingham bass stalwart drops 'Lame Car', a skip away from his dubbier productions on Berkane Sol and a slick move into Funky influenced riddimic syncopations fused with a hi-end electronica palette. Metaphi's 'The More I Know Her' is a beautifully realised amalgam of garage wired rhythms and subtly infused Oriental melodics, while on the flip Hizatron and Taylor match European techno textures with kinked Funky and post-garage drive executed to the highest levels. This is a very smart proposition opening up a theoretical gap between the slick dancefloor electronics of Tobias or Villalobos and the rhythm experimentalism of UK based "nuum" genre pioneers like Roska, Peverelist or Untold.
